Assembly Instructions for Log Futon

Before beginning assembly please take a few moments to read the instructions carefully, understanding each step. Likewise, please also ensure that the hardware package contains the items as described here.
Tools Needed: 1/2" wrench, 9/16" wrench
Parts List:
- (2) 74" Cross Rails
- (2) Arm Rest Panels
- (1) Seat Frame
- (1) Back Frame
- (2) Hinge Brackets
Hardware List:
- (4) 3" Lag Bolts
- (8) 4" x 5/16" diameter carriage bolts
- (8) 5/16" Flat Washers
- (8) 5/16" Nuts
Steps:
1. Set arm rest panels on floor with hinge brackets facing each other.
2. Insert 74" cross rails, flat side up, between armrest panels into 2" holes.
3. Secure 74" cross rails using 3" lag bolts. (Do not tighten completely; this will be done in step 5)
4. Attach seat and back frames by:(Both the seat and back frame are identical)
a. Insert 4" carriage bolts into pre-drilled holes in seat and back frames.
b. Place seat on hinge bracket, lining up carriage bolts with holes in hinge bracket.
c. Place washer and nut onto carriage bolt and finger tighten.
d. Repeat steps 4.a. through 4.c. for back frame.
5. Once all parts are installed and aligned, tighten lag bolts and carriage bolts using wrenches.
6. Lay futon frame flat by lifting up seat and pulling outward. Back frame will recline and you can lay seat
frame fully down.
7. Place futon mattress, if so equipped, onto back and seat frames. Mattress is identical; either end will
work just fine for seat or back cushion and can be rotated or flipped as necessary to avoid uneven wear.
Enjoy your new futon; it is now fully assembled.

*Pine requires a good sealant. We recommend two coats of varnish being applied per manufactures directions. The table may be stained prior to finishing varnish.
